The main theme of
this test was for 16 cm class speaker systems, but I would like to
introduce two interesting models unscheduled for the test. First
model in them is 10 cm full range model of Phass. The adopting
double cone construction instead of single cone and its cone having
same diameters as one of magnet are very interesting. This unit may
have an appearance of being cheap like OEM speakers, but if you see
its magnet side, you will understand what this is. This is Alnico
magnet. I guess that the person who planned this speaker unit is a
man of refined taste. What an unbalanced combination! --- of only 10
cm full range and alnico magnet. It is my expression. The basket is
made by steel. Actual weight is 608 g. I wish a die-casting basket
will be used in next production for this!? Its appearance is poor (I
am sorry!), but basic content is very rich. This unbalance sense is
quite interesting. The listening is very pleasure.
I am strongly
impressed with a surprising good balance and coherency in its
produced sound since I have been keeping my ears open to the
sounding of multi way system speakers. The strings sound of acoustic
guitar, turning up and turning down, is astonishingly rapid. It
transmits the vibrato of the belly of guitar very well. The dense
bass range tone makes me comfortable tightly. It maybe possible to
adjust the amount of bass sound by enclosure volume. It was a bit
hard for this to reproduce the swell parts in symphony by orchestra,
but every musical instrument tones were very clear. The horn tone
was particularly beautiful more than violin. The mid tones main of
musical sound are reproduced lightly and beautifully, high and low
range naturally fade out. Female vocal is dense sound and
comfortably neutral. No matter what I say, this has most fascination
on the coherence thanks to one point sound source and excellent
dispersion of sound. Such fascinations of this unit are not
appreciated until people hear it so that I would like to strongly
recommend listening to it.
